These are 3-lb Bee Packages with a mated queen included. Pre-order for pickup at Lively Grove Farms in Bolivia. (720 Danford Rd, Bolivia, NC 28422) As an agricultural product bees are weather dependent.
Package bees are a great way to establish new colonies and replace winter losses.
A 3 pound package contains approximately 12,000 bees. It is normal for package bees to contain a small amount of dead bees that cover the bottom of the package. This does not mean you have a loss. Our packages contain extra weight in bees to compensate for loss in transportation. Please check your package before you leave the store to insure your satisfaction.
These bees are contained in a screen sided wooden box. A can filled with sugar syrup is placed inside the box provides feed for the bees during transit. The package comes with an unmarked mated queen. The queen is kept in a small wooden cage with one screened side during transit.
Your package of Bees must be picked up at Lively Grove Farms in Bolivia (720 Danford Rd, Bolivia, NC 28422) during business hours on the date specified. WE DO NOT SHIP LIVE BEES.
